Hey friends!!!

My squad and I have now been in Guatemala for 2 weeks! The base we are staying at is so very beautiful. On weekdays, each team goes out to do ministry. Ministry here looks like playing soccer with kids, going from village to village to talk to the homeowners, or just simply painting a church! It’s been so fun, but also at times, very hard.

One Sunday back in Georgia at training camp one of the teams led church. The message was “Home.” When we got asked to stop and reflect on what home is to us, I immediately drawled a heart.

Home: “The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.”

To me, home is wherever my heart is.

Wherever the Lord is, I’m home

When I was looking and reflecting back on that topic, I realized just how many times I’ve found my home in other things other than the Lord himself. When anxiety came, I placed my trust in another’s hand. When I missed home, I placed my comfort in another’s word.

The Lord has showed me how important it is to place my dwelling in His goodness alone. In His faithfulness alone. In His unfailing love alone. In His mercy alone. I’ve realized that if He is not my FIRST dwelling place (home) that I reside in, I’ll always be looking for something more to fill me. Can I let you in on a little secret?! NOTHING will ever fill you more than Him alone. You will never be home if you don’t first find that home in the one that dwells within your home. He has already even put the FULL down payment DOWN! The Lord is already at home with you. Let Him be your home today.

Love you guys! God bless!

  1. Morgan,
I am so glad that things are going well. Carrying you in my thoughts and prayers as you share Christ in far away places. Stay safe.

  2. Amen! Couldn’t agree more, and you are fortunate to learn this essential truth when you are young. Praying for you and all of Squad H as you increasingly learn to make your first home with the Lord, and secondly, in Guatemala.
