Am I speaking life or death?

Hiking the volcano 2 weekends ago here in Guatemala was one of the best and coolest experiences ever. It was one of the most mentally and physically challenging things I’ve done.

While hiking up to the top, I realized just how much authority you can give over to your thoughts. Your thoughts can either have power over you or you have power over them. I am very afraid of heights; I found myself letting my thoughts of anxiety of the heights take forefront of my mind. During the hike up my sweet friend kept reminding me of the truth. She would say scripture to me anytime I would voice a fear that crippled me.

I realized just how much power and authority I’ve been giving over to my words of fear, anxiety, and worries— words of death. It’s so very important to speak life into your words. Is what you are speaking to yourself life-giving? Are you planting flowers in the garden of your mind, or planting weeds of death? That’s such an important question to ask ourselves on the daily basis when observing our thoughts.

Where do your thoughts lie? What are you giving power to? What authority does your thoughts have over you?

Speak words of encouragement. Speak words of life. Speak positivity.

2 Timothy 2:7 “God has not given us the power of fear, but of sound mind.”

Love you, friends!
